KOTTAYAM, India (Jan. 3, 2012)—India's consumption of rubber declined in September 2011, compared with August.
Consumption of NR by the rubber goods manufacturing industry in the country during September 2011 was 74,870 metric tons compared to 76,190 metric tons during August 2011.
The cumulative consumption during the first half of 2011-12 was 475,485 metric tons as against 469,050 metric tons during the same period last year, registering a growth of 1.4 percent.
Natural rubber production in the country during September 2011 was 80,200 metric tons compared to the production of 77,500 metric tons during September 2010.
The aggregate production during April 2011 to September 2011 was 391,400 metric tons compared to 375,250 metric tons during the corresponding period of the previous year, recording a growth of 4.3 percent.
