AKRON (Dec. 20, 2011)—Goodyear has named John “Jack” Winterton president of the consumer division of its North American Tire business unit and made three other key executive promotions in the unit in order to “continue the positive momentum.”
Winterton, who most recently served as chief customer officer for NAT, succeeds Steve McClellan, who was promoted in August to president of NAT. Winterton, 58, has worked in Goodyear's NAT business for his entire career, serving in varied roles such as vice president of consumer tires and director of dealer sales, consumer tires.
In addition, Goodyear appointed Phillip Kane vice president of NAT's commercial division, succeeding Joe Copeland, who plans to leave the company after nearly 10 years. Kane, 47, was president of Goodyear's Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems network of on-highway commercial tire sales, service and retread facilities for the past year. He joined Goodyear in 2004 as its director of strategic initiatives and also was senior director, channel sales, for NAT.
Goodyear named Ryan Patterson, 38, most recently NAT's finance director, to succeed Winterton as vice president, consumer operations and customer development, a newly created position. Prior to joining the NAT team, he held various financial roles in Goodyear's Latin American Tire business.
Finally, Paul Wanstreet was selected to replace Kane as president of Wingfoot, where he was vice president of operations up until 2009. Most recently he headed operations for Goodyear's consumer retail business.
All of the new assignments are effective immediately, the company said.
