HESSLE, England (Dec. 7, 2011)—Fenner Dunlop Americas Inc. has acquired virtually all the operating assets of Allison Custom Fabrication Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Allison, which operates out of Allison, Pa., focuses on the design, engineering, machining and metal fabrication of customized material handling equipment, primarily for the West Virginia and Pennsylvania coal mining markets.
The purchase will strengthen Pittsburgh-based Fenner Dunlop's position as the supplier of choice for engineered conveyor products in the Americas, according to Fenner Dunlop parent Fenner P.L.C. The firm said Allison produces material handling equipment for both underground and above ground applications.
“This is a significant development for the Fenner Dunlop Engineered Conveyor Solutions offering in the Americas,” said Nicholas Hobson, CEO of Hessle-headquartered Fenner P.L.C.
He said that by making the deal the company has expanded its capabilities and has broadened its ability “to manage the life cycle of our customers' conveyors. This acquisition further consolidates Fenner Dunlop's position as the leading supplier of conveyor products and services to the North American markets.”
