CELAYA, Mexico—Rehau North America has completed a 13,000-sq.-ft. expansion of its manufacturing plant in Celaya, the seals and gasket company announced.
The expansion includes administrative offices, meeting rooms, a training facility and an indoor/outdoor display of Rehau's polymer-based solutions for the construction, automotive and furniture industries.
It also features some of Rehau's sustainable building and renewable energy systems, including a Rehau EcoAir ground-air heat exchanger, Raucord polymer wicker outdoor furniture, Relazzo wood-polymer composite decking and Rehau Acoustic Line sound-absorbing tambour doors, the company said.
“With the expansion of our Celaya facility, we are able to integrate manufacturing and administration functions all under one roof,” said Rehau Sales Director Stephan Joachim.
“The expansion in Celaya represents growth across all of our North American business units and is an encouraging economic indicator for automotive, construction and industry,” said Christian Fabian, Rehau North American vice president, marketing and sales.
For the appliance industry, REHAU makes gaskets from rigid PVC and silicone, according to the company.
The company now employs some 15,000 workers at more than 170 locations worldwide, according to the firm's website.
It established its Celaya plant in 1993, with 12 employees; the facility now employs about 80.
Rehau celebrated the expansion with a grand opening ceremony in Celaya on Aug. 26.
