CLEVELAND—Joseph Walker will serve as chairman of the ACS Rubber Division in 2012, followed by Leonard Thomas in 2013, and various other members will be moving up.
Walker is from Freudenberg-NOK G.P., and Thomas, a consultant, formerly worked at Caterpillar Inc.
The division also named as officers in 2012 Doug Ruch, ChemRep Inc., as treasurer; Terry DeLapa, Sunboss Chemicals Corp., assistant treasurer; and Leo C. Goss Jr., Rhein Chemie Corp., secretary.
The division changed its bylaws a few years ago to eliminate some of the competitive voting, ensuring officers on the chairman's track spend a couple of years at each post as they advance to chairman. That means Ruch is scheduled to be chairman in 2014, and DeLapa will assume that post in 2015.
This year's chairman is Walter Waddell of ExxonMobil.
Besides those executives, other Steering Committee members are David R. O'Brien, Lehigh Technologies Inc., and Andrew Keil, Aurora Rubber & Dist. Inc., who are directors' representatives; councilor John M. Long of JM Long Rubber Consultants L.L.C.; Mark Petras of ChemRep, alternate councilor; and Edward L. Miller, Rubber Division executive director.
The group's executive committee also includes area directors from 21 rubber groups and affiliated organizations, and four committee chairmen, as well as DeLapa, who also is marketing committee chairwoman.
