BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. (Oct. 28, 2011)—After a two-month, in-store fundraising campaign, Bridgestone Americas' company-owned retail stores collected more than $225,000 in donations from customers to donate to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Personnel at Bridgestone Retail Operations L.L.C.'s store network—nearly 2,200 Firestone Complete Auto Care, Expert Tire, Tires Plus and Wheel Works locations—collected $227,954 in donations by asking customers to round up their invoices to the nearest dollar.
The Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer. Over the past 20 years, the organization has donated more than $4.5 million to researchers.
