KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (Oct. 19, 2011)—Packaging and tubing manufacturer Tekni-Plex Inc. has opened a global technology center in Holland, Ohio.
The King of Prussia-based company—which makes rubber gaskets and medical tubing, among a variety of other products—said the facility will help expedite new product development.
The facility includes analytical and product performance testing laboratories, and large custom pilot scale extrusion, coextrusion, extrusion coating, extrusion lamination and lamination equipment.
“The site provides our company the increased freedom to innovate at the business unit level and allows us to focus on enhancing our product lines while also creating new ones,” said Phil Bourgeois, vice president of global technology and regulatory affairs. He led the effort to establish the site and will manage the facility.
Tekni-Plex makes closure lining materials, barrier blister film laminates, medical tubing, compounds, rubber and plastic gaskets, foam food cartons and trays, and dispensing tubing. The company has 26 plants on four continents.
