PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 18, 2011)—Regupol America L.L.C., Lebanon, Pa.-based manufacturer of recycled rubber flooring, is one of several companies helping the Shane Victorino Foundation in its efforts to renovate the historic Nicetown Boys & Girls Club in Philadelphia.
The foundation—a nonprofit dedicated to promoting opportunities for underprivileged youth in Philadelphia and Hawaii—pledged nearly $1 million to renovate the 105-year-old Nicetown building, Regupol said.
To renovate the flooring at the building, Regupol donated more than 9,100 square feet of its Regupol Aktiv recycled rubber sports flooring and 2,300 square feet of its Regupol Shock Padding. The material is worth more than $34,000, the company said.
Robbins Sports Surfaces of Cincinnati donated the gymnasium floor, and Abacus Sports Installations Ltd., of Lancaster, Pa., agreed to install both the Robbins floor and the Regupol rubber flooring. Sika Corp. donated adhesive for the installation, and Schutz NA provided the finish for the Regupol Aktiv flooring.
