CHICAGO (Oct. 10, 2011)—AkzoNobel said it will spend $20 million to increase capacity at its surface chemistry plants in Morris, Ill., and Itupeva, Brazil, during the next two years.
The investment will enable AkzoNobel to expand production capacity for fatty amine derivatives, which are essential ingredients in formulations used in a broad range of industries.
For the rubber industry, AkzoNobel makes such products as metal alkyls, aluminoxanes, and polymer additives.
