NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2011)—Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations has named Saul Solomon president of its Latin American Tire division, succeeding Humberto Gomez, who retired during the summer.
Solomon, most recently president of BATO's U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales division, joined Bridgestone as a senior counsel in 1993. He has held positions such as division vice president of labor relations (1997), vice president and general counsel of Bridgestone Americas Holdings Inc. (2000) and president of Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (2008).
Taking over for Solomon as president of U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales is Ken Weaver, who most recently served as the company's CFO.
Weaver joined Bridgestone in 1982 as manager, financial systems, Firestone Credit Card. Since then, he has worked in a variety of management roles within Bridgestone Americas, including its GCR Group and Firestone Agricultural Tire units.
