LAVAL, Quebec (Sept. 14, 2011)—Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. is raising prices on its Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand medium truck tires effective Oct. 1 and Michelin-, BFG-, Uniroyal- and associate-brand car and light truck tires effective Nov. 1.
The truck tire price increase will be an average of 6.5 percent, while the increase on car and light truck tires will be an average of 4 percent, Michelin said, and will exclude the firm's winter tire lines.
The company cited increasing raw material costs for the price increases.
Michelin last raised prices in Canada in April, on Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand commercial truck tires and passenger and light truck winter replacement tires, by up to 7 percent.
