PALMETTO, FLA. (Sept. 14, 2011)—Injection molder Global Components Inc. plans to open a factory in Palmetto, creating 50 jobs during the next three years.
GCI already operates plants in the United Kingdom and Malaysia making parts for aerospace, medical, defense, automotive and other industries utilizing both elastomers and plastics. The Palmetto facility will cover 16,000 square feet and include a Food and Drug Administration-compliant clean room, the company said...
“We have identified a number of excellent growth opportunities in the U.S. market and want to be close to vendors, suppliers and customers,” GCI President Lindsay Rolfe said in the release.
The state of Florida is providing GCI with $240,000 in tax incentives for the project, with Manatee County providing an additional $60,000 in incentives.
