MILAN, Italy (Sept. 9, 2011)—Pirelli Tyre S.p.A. is launching the P Zero Silver, a road tire derived from the firm's experience in designing and building tires for Formula 1 Grand Prix racing.
Borrowing the “silver” designation from its range of F1 tires, Pirelli said the P Zero Silver road tire will offer drivers of UHP vehicles “greater durability” and lower rolling resistance than competitors' tires while continuing to provide handling and braking performance “typical of the P Zero line.”
The tire will be available in spring 2012 in a limited range of sizes, Pirelli said, without clarifying where in the P Zero lineup the new tire will be slotted or what its pricing will be.
