LEOMINSTER, Mass.-Engineers and designers who want the skinny on the use of silicone have a new blog to try, from Albright Technologies Inc.
The maker of prototype silicone molded parts has launched www.silicone.pro to expand the knowledge base of silicone, both within and outside the industry, said Bob Waitt, vice president of business development at Leominster-based Albright.
The site will be a forum where industry professionals can share ideas, according to Waitt. He sees the site as enabling designers and engineers to adapt to future innovations.
As examples of what Albright's site intends to do, silicone.pro currently has about 20 questions posted, such as: "How can I reduce or eliminate the problems associated with trapped air"; and, "what medical acceptable lubricant can be used with a piston with a silicone ring seal?"
