DALLAS (Aug. 26, 2011)—Bridgestone Commercial Solutions introduced three truck tires during the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas this week.
The Bridgestone M770 is a drive tire for high-traction and high-scrub applications in long haul, regional and pickup and delivery service. The open-shoulder drive axel radial features greater tread volume for longer mileage with improved traction in all weather conditions, the company said. The tire features a groove-and-block shape to fight lug base cracking and tearing and contains stone rejector platforms in all grooves to help prevent stones from getting trapped.
The M770 drive tire is available in size 295/75R22.5 (G). Sizes 285/75R24.5 (G), 11R22.5 (G/H) and 11R24.5 (G) will be offered during the first quarter of 2012.
Bridgestone's M799 is a mixed service radial for highway service and occasional use on gravel roads and debris-filled job sites.
The computer designed all-steel casing provides durability and retreadability, the company said. The tire features thick ribs on both sidewalls to protect the casing from cuts and abrasions and a stone rejector platform.
The M799 features an extra-deep cap and base tread compound to promote long, original tread life, the company said. The cap compound is engineered for the rough road conditions on- and off-highway use, while the base compound helps shield the casing from heat damage. BACS also noted that the tire has a tough top steel belt to help prevent flats.
The M799 is available in sizes 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 12R22.5.
Finally, the Greatec R125A is a wide base trailer radial designed to provides more payload, longer tire wear and reduced costs per mile. The tire features an exclusive belt system to maintain casing shape with a wide top belt to resist irregular wear resistance and the Waved Belt design to hold the tread flat against the road for longer, even wear and handling.
Both sidewalls have protector ribs to fight curbing, cuts and impacts and the tire features a mineral-additive innerliner to help minimize air loss and oxidation of the steel cords.
The R125A, available in size 445/50R22.5 (L), also features stone rejector platforms, cross-rib sipes to improve traction on wet roads, stress–relief sipes to absorb rib edge stresses and increase mileage, and Bridgestone's Turn-In Ply design to reduce ply end stress and improve durability.
