FULLERTON, Calif. (Aug. 18, 2011)—Yokohama Tire Corp. will raise prices on all off-the-road tires in the U.S. by 11 percent, effective Sept. 1.
The increase, which Yokohama said will include in-line adjustments at a later date, is attributed to escalating raw material costs.
“The entire OTR industry continues to be challenged with high costs of raw materials that it has had to contend with over the last few years,” said Gary Nash, Yokohama vice president of OTR sales. “Compounding these costs are the rising costs in transportation and manufacturing.”
This is the company's third OTR tire price increase this year. The firm raised prices May 1 by up to 10 percent and on Jan. 1 by up to 5 percent.
