LONDON (June 21, 2011)—Paul Mitchell, publisher of European Rubber Journal and Urethanes Technology International, will retire on Sept. 19, and the publications' staff is moving to Crain offices in Croydon, England, from London.
Mitchell—managing director of Crain Communications Ltd. and a vice president of parent company Crain Communications Inc., publisher of Rubber & Plastics News—joined the company 30 years ago.
Steve Crowhurst, publisher of Plastics & Rubber Weekly and European Plastics News, will serve as publisher of ERJ and UT as of July 18, and Mitchell will continue with the publications until his retirement date to ensure a smooth transition.
Mitchell has been responsible for Urethane Technology's UTECH exhibitions, launched in 1986, and will continue to be a consultant of the polyurethane trade show, with Crowhurst taking leadership of the events.
The eight ERJ and UT staff members will join their Crain colleagues on PRW, EPN and the European arm of Plastics News in Croydon over the weekend of July 15-16.
“We are thrilled that Paul has agreed to serve as a consultant for the UTECH exhibitions after his retirement,” said K.C. Crain, vice president and group publisher, Crain Communications Inc. “His rich relationships around the world, especially in China, will continue to keep the exhibition brands he founded strong for years to come.”
