ST LOUIS (June 8, 2011)—Solutia Inc. said it is committed to its remaining rubber chemicals lines, following the recent completion of the restructuring of the division.
The firm referred to its Santoflex antidegradants and Crystex insoluble sulphur as core businesses.
“As promised, the ... rubber chemicals portfolio has been reshaped and Solutia is focused on the core rubber chemical businesses of Crystex insoluble sulfur and Santoflex antidegradants,” said Greta Senn, president and general manager of Solutia's Technical Specialties division.
The company said it is continuing to defend itself against alleged infringements of its intellectual property related to the production process for 4-ADPA, a key precursor for the Santoflex product.
