CARPINTERIA, Calif.—NuSil Technology L.L.C. has released the FS-3511, a 100M% fluorosilicone liquid silicone rubber designed for molding high-quality parts.
FS-3511 is a two-part, translucent fluorosilicone elastomer that cures rapidly with heat and provides minimal shrinkage, the company said.
With a long work time, FS-3511 provides processability for liquid injection molding.
This elastomer is formulated for high-quality molded components that are exposed to aviation fuels such as JP-8, chemicals and solvents, NuSil said.
Typical applications include O-rings; gaskets; seals; and precision-molded parts for the automotive, aerospace, sensor and oil industries.
It is stable in harsh thermal environments of up to 275°C and offers stability during thermal cycling, according to the company.
FS-3511 has a typical tensile strength of 850 psi (5.9MPa), elongation of 240 percent and tear strength of 40 ppi (7.1 kN/m).
