AKRON (May 25, 2011)—Innovative ways to conduct lab qualification and proof testing of hydraulic hose will be among the presentations at the Hose Manufacturers' Conference, Aug. 23-24 in a Cleveland suburb.
Chris Jorge of the Haider Inc. division of Bimal S.R.L.'s presentation, titled “Defining Future Pathways to Better Test Hydraulic Hose and Fittings,” will offer information on testing related to spiral, braided and thermoplastic hydraulic hoses, as well as fittings and assemblies. His speech will be one of at least 15 papers given at the conference at the Holiday Inn in Independence, Ohio.
Jorge will define how to properly implement a burst test and measure the change in length of the material being tested. He will describe suitable ways to do proof testing, flushing and cleaning based on specific standards, determinations and the most common interpretation on how to efficiently carry on these trials.
The speaker will discuss how to establish a functional impulse testing in accordance with performance specifications determined by SAE, ISO, European or Japanese standards that meet the needs of demanding industries such aerospace, petroleum, construction, machinery and other fields.
The event is sponsored by Rubber & Plastic News and Veyance Technologies Inc. Jenny Z. Yu, worldwide technology manager for industrial hose and hydraulics at Veyance, is chairing the conference.
