FONTANA, Calif. (May 10, 2011)—Falken Tire Corp. will raise prices by up to 8 percent on all passenger and light truck tires, effective July 1, and by up to 10 percent on all commercial truck tires, effective June 1.
All lines may also be subject to in-line adjustments, which the company will announce after new price schedules have been sent out to dealers, Fontana-based Falken said.
The firm added that increases will be applied to all warehouse orders placed on or after the effective dates. The increase also will apply to June factory direct orders. New orders for tires placed prior to the price increase cannot exceed 125 percent of a dealer's monthly average for orders placed in the last six months.
All backorders from before the increase will be canceled 30 days after the price increase is effective and, with dealer approval, be re-entered with updated pricing.
Falken last raised prices on its Falken and Ohtsu brands March 1, by 5 to 8 percent.
