SINGAPORE (May 5, 2011)—Teknor Apex Co. has established Teknor Apex Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. as the corporate name for its plastics compounder serving a region that stretches from Saudi Arabia to New Zealand.
The new name replaces that of Singapore Polymer Corporation, an international business based in Singapore that was acquired by Teknor Apex in 2001. Teknor Apex also has a sister company in China, the company said.
“Combining all of our operations under the Teknor Apex brand represents the culmination of a decade-long process of integration that has created one company in fact – not just in name,” said Stanly Tan, managing director of Teknor Apex's Asia Pacific and China operations.
Teknor Apex Asia Pacific is due to exhibit at Chinaplas 2011, the company said, where it will feature the first trade-show appearance of the Sarlink thermoplastic vulcanizate elastomer business since its acquisition in November by Teknor Apex.
Teknor Apex, which has its headquarters in Pawtucket, R.I., intends to expand its business in India, Japan and Taiwan, the company said.
