BETHESDA, Md. (April 25, 2011)— Paul Fiore, who lost his job as director of government and business relations at the Tire Industry Association earlier this month in an association downsizing, has become director of government affairs for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.
Fiore reported to his new position today. “It's a really good feeling to go to work with people I've had a relationship with,” he said in a phone interview from his office in Bethesda. “Most of the issues are the same, and it will be a pleasure working for them.”
A longtime veteran of the auto aftermarket and a former garage owner himself, Fiore started with TIA in 2003 as director of business development, entrusted with the job of expanding the association's relationship with the nation's largest independent tire dealerships and buying groups.
In 2005, Fiore was promoted to the newly created position of director of government and business relations. In that position, he led TIA's activities in legislative and regulatory affairs.
Fiore left TIA April 4, and the association's government affairs activities were taken over by Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president
