SACRAMENTO (March 25, 2011)—The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, better known as CalRecycle, is planning a series of five half-day workshops this spring to disseminate information about rubberized asphalt paving materials and tire-derived aggregate for civil engineering projects.
The workshops are part of CalRecycle's “Green Roads” initiative to encourage the productive, value-added use of recycled scrap tire rubber in public projects. Experts on rubberized asphalt and TDA will provide information on best practices in manufacturing and placing rubberized asphalt and on technical assistance and funding opportunities for TDA.
Scheduled presenters include Stacey Patenaude of CalRecycle, Theron Roschen of Jacobs Engineering, Joaquin Wright of Kennec Inc. and Michael Robinson of Kleinfelder.
The first workshop will take place April 5 in Goleta, Calif. Subsequent workshops will be April 26 in Union City, Calif.; May 3 in Novato, Calif.; May 9 in Downey, Calif.; and May 10 in San Diego.
