TOKYO (March 11, 2011)—Prices on international rubber exchanges dropped rapidly overnight.
On Tokyo's TOCOM Exchange, prices for the six-month contract dropped sharply once more, closing down about $4.72 per kilo on March 11.
In Singapore, Sicom said short-dated RSS3 prices also fell, closing at $5.18 on minimal trading, after dipping as low as $4.80. Short-dated TSR 20 increased, however to close at $4.57
India's NMCE prices also fell, with March deliveries finishing down around $4.75 per kilo.
Shanghai Future Exchange also eased, with the highest price recorded at $5.62 per kilo for short-dated contracts, down slightly on numbers from the day before. Longer-dated contracts were priced down 3 percent.
