GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 1, 2011)—Michelin North America Inc. is increasing prices May 1 on Michelin-, BFGoodrich-, Uniroyal-, private- and associate-brand passenger and light truck aftermarket tires in the U.S. by up to 8.5 percent.
This is Michelin's second consumer tire price hike this year and third in the past year. The company blamed rising raw material prices for the increase.
Michelin last raised prices on passenger/light truck tires in the U.S. on Feb. 1, but did not specify the size of the increase.
The change does not affect prices in Canada at this time, Michelin said.
