WASHINGTON (Feb. 23, 2011)—The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency seeks public comment on its plan to review existing EPA regulations.
The effort is part of the agency's response to President Obama's Jan. 18, 2011, Executive Order 13563, “Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review.” The order directs federal agencies to consider “how best to promote retrospective analysis of rules that may be outmoded, ineffective, insufficient, or excessively burdensome,” the EPA said in a press release.
By late May, the EPA intends to issue its retrospective review plan and a list of regulations it plans to review, the agency said.
