AKRON (Feb 15, 2011)—Registration for the meeting and hotel rooms for the ACS Rubber Division's spring meeting in Akron has opened at the association's website.
The 179th technical meeting of the division will take place April 18-20 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn Hotel, just outside Akron.
Among the events planned for the meeting will be the keynote address by Robert Bienenfeld, senior management, environment and energy strategy product regulatory office of American Honda Motor Co. Inc.; presentation of the Charles Goodyear Medal to Joseph A. Kuczkowski, retired research and development associate from Goodyear; and several other awards.
A variety of technical papers are planned, covering topics ranging from surface characterization of polymers, to mechanisms of aging, to automotive and industrial applications of elastomers.
The division also will hold its 25-year Club luncheon for industry veterans with at least that many years of consecutive service in the industry; the Science & Technology Banquet, where the various awards will be presented; and the 5K Walk/Run.
