ORANGEBURG, S.C. (Feb. 7, 2011)—Gulbrandsen Chemical's Polyurethane Additives business said it will increase the price of stannous octoate polyurethane catalysts, effective March 1, or as contracts permit.
The company said the price for T-Cat 110 stannous octoate will increase by 10 percent at that time. Stannous octoate dilutions along with T-Cat 120 di-butyl tin di-laurate will increase in proportion to their respective tin metal concentrations.
Gulbrandsen said that this price increase is as a result of the continuing rise in the cost of tin metal used to manufacture tin-based polyurethane catalysts.
T-Cat catalysts are used in a wide range of flexible polyurethane foams for both residential and transportation applications.
