LANGLEY, British Columbia (Jan. 7, 2011)—Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. has reorganized into business units for its consumer and commercial product lines and named Jonathon Karelse and John Overing, respectively, to head the new units.
Karelse has been with Yokohama Tire (Canada) since 2004, most recently as national marketing manager since 2008.
Overing joined Yokohama recently from Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., where he was product line segment manager for heavy trucks.
“We are creating a more effective and responsive operating structure that will increase the ability of both business segments to grow,” said Yokohama Tire (Canada) President Ãric Dedoyard. “The new structure will allow us to better serve our entire customer base by leveraging the skill sets of our people across all categories of our product portfolio.”
The organizational change means tire retailers will deal with a single, unified Yokohama sales and marketing team, Dedoyard said.
The new structure will see an internal realignment of personnel including business development and inside sales positions for each unit.
Yokohama Tire (Canada) employs more than 60 at its corporate headquarters in Langley and regional offices in Mississauga, Ontario, and Montreal. Its consumer tires are available at more than 700 independent tire dealers and 2,000 retail locations, while commercial tires are available at more than 300 independent tire- and fleet-servicing dealers.
