PITTSBURGH (Dec. 29, 2010)—The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates has awarded Lanxess Corp.'s operations in Baytown, Texas, with a 2010 Silver Award for implementing a recognized environmental, health, safety and security program.
The award is given as part of SOCMA's annual Performance Improvement Awards, sponsored by ChemStewards, SOCMA's environmental, health, safety and security initiative.
The Baytown facility, which manufactures maleic anhydride, is being recognized in the product stewardship category for developing and making available to all customers a guide and video on the safe handling and transportation of its product.
