GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Dec. 23, 2010)—Esco Group CEO Richard Hungerford Sr. died Dec. 11 after a short battle with leukemia.
He also was the primary shareholder of Esco Group, which was the holding company of Edge-Sweets Co., a manufacturer of urethane processing equipment. Hungerford had been CEO for the past 10 years.
Under Hungerford's guidance, the company said “ESCO has grown and developed into a global supplier of urethane solutions, and we will continue this growth through a combination of customer focus and innovative products.”
Rick Hungerford Jr. will replace his father as CEO of the Esco Group, the firm said, while Kevin Ryan will continue as president of Esco Sales Co., the sales and engineering arm of Esco.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children Rick Jr. and Ashley Lieber, Kelly and Jason Wender, Angie and Mike Morgan, and Brett and Caitlyn O'Haire; and two granddaughters.
