TOKYO (Dec. 20, 2010)—Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. said it will change its fiscal accounting year to January-December from the current April-March, subject to shareholder ratification.
The change would take place in 2011 and result in a one-time nine-month fiscal period from April 1, 2011, to Dec. 31, 2011, the Japanese company said. Subsequent fiscal years will begin on January 1 and end on Dec. 31.
The change will bring Yokohama into conformance with an important element of the International Financial Reporting Standards, the company said.
