TAIPEI, Taiwan (Dec. 20, 2010)—Nankang Rubber Tire Corp. Ltd. has launched its first line of motorcycle tires, the radial Roadiac, targeting the sport touring segment, initially in Asia/Pacific and Europe.
“The Nankang Roadiac uses JLSB (Jointless Space Belt) technology to provide stronger stability, handling, stiffness, and temperature generation control,” according to the company, which will begin shipping the tires this month.
Nankang is still evaluating the American market for a possible launch.
The Roadiac offers features specific for front and rear positions. The front tire tread pattern enhances cornering and handling. The rear tire offers stability, comfort and longer wear, according to the company.
The front tires are available in 120/70ZR17 (58W). The rear tires are available in 180/55ZR17 (73W), 170/60ZR17 (72W) and 160/60ZR17 (69W). Additional sizes will be added in early 2011.
Nankang produces the tires in Taiwan, although the Taipei-based company did not say at which plant or plants. Capacity initially is 3,000 units per month and expanding continuously, Nankang said.
