WASHINGTON (Dec. 16, 2010)—In its latest listing of goods produced using child labor, issued Dec. 15, the U.S. Department of Labor claims that rubber goods from Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Liberia and the Philippines all use child labor.
In addition, the report said rubber goods from Burma are created using forced labor.
The International Labor Rights Forum said that as part of the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorisation Act of 2005, DOL's Bureau of International Labor Affairs was tasked with developing and making available to the public a list of goods from countries that the Bureau of International Labor Affairs has reason to believe are produced by forced labor or child labor in violation of international standards.
