MADRID, Spain (Dec. 15, 2010)—Dynasol, a subsidiary of Repsol YPF and the Kuo Group, has created a 50-50 joint venture with the Chinese Xing'an petrochemicals company to build a facility and to produce and sell rubber.
The plant in northeastern China will have a production capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year of synthetic rubber, which will also be marketed in other countries in the region, Dynasol said.
This facility will be part of the complex which the mother company Xing'an owns in Liaoning province.
Dynasol said the facility will help accommodate demand for rubber in China, which it said is growing 7 percent annually.
Dynasol will supply the production technology and the know-how in developing new products and will also provide technical service to clients.
Dynasol said with the addition of the plant, the company will boost its present production capacity by 50 percent.
