TOKYO (Dec. 13, 2010)—Showa Denka K.K. said it will increase prices for its chloroprene rubber in markets outside Japan on Jan. 1.
The firm said it will boost the price of a metric ton of the synthetic rubber by $500 or more in the U.S., and 400 euros per ton for euro-based transactions.
Showa Denka said the current price doesn't reflect increases in raw materials costs, and it decided to pass along a portion of those costs to its customers
