O'FALLON, Mo. (Dec. 8, 2010)—The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has announced that Mickey Thompson Tires will remain as the official tire of the ADRL for the 2011 season.
The ADRL said Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s Mickey Thompson subsidiary also will continue to offer its comprehensive contingency program to five professional classes—Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle and Extreme Pro Stock—for the O'Fallon-based league's 2011 tour.
“The ADRL is a great partner and very loyal and we truly enjoy working with everyone there,” Mickey Thompson Motorsports Manager Carl Robinson said in an ADRL press release. “We find it to be a very good match for our brand.”
Robinson added that he believes the relationship between the tire supplier and ADRL will grow in 2011 as the company's tire and wheel products continue to receive “rave reviews” in all ADRL classes.
“The whole Mickey Thompson crew has been so good to work with over the years. We are all thrilled to have them back with us for the 2011 tour,” ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said. “Their tremendous support of our racers and events has been instrumental in the growth and success of the ADRL and I can't imagine having our races without them involved.”
Mr. Robinson said the upcoming season will include the continued development of new tires for both the Pro Extreme and Extreme Pro Stock classes, noting that “at the current time, we have a good product, but our desire is to develop a new product into a new technical zone. That's exciting.”
