LIVERPOOL, England (Dec. 1, 2010)—Molder and extruder Ley Rubber Ltd. is moving to a new factory near Liverpool and buying more equipment.
The company, which specializes in quick turnaround rubber extrusions and moldings, will relocate to the plant in Kirkby, near Liverpool, by the first week of January, said a David Jones, a consultant to the company.
Ley Rubber has purchased three compression presses, an open mill and an extruder as well as a boiler and autoclave, and also will refurbish its existing extruders, Jones said. The firm is investing about $550,000 in the equipment and the relocation.
Jones said the new factory will help the company's production flow, and sustain growth. In 2011, the firm plans to invest another $468,000 in an undisclosed new development that should help it boost exports, he said.
The company currently employs 36.
