STOCKHOLM, Sweden (Nov. 24, 2010)—Trelleborg A.B. is will invest about $23.1 million over a two-year period to open a factory in Brazil that will make products for the domestic offshore oil and gas market.
The products to be manufactured at the new plant will include specially designed subsea buoys, bend stiffeners and thermal insulation tape for deep-sea applications. The factory will be part of the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business, which gains 25 percent of its sales from the offshore oil and gas sector.
The facility will be located in the coastal city of Macae.
