GREENVILLE, S.C. (Nov. 22, 2010)—Michelin North America Inc. is raising replacement market prices in the U.S. on truck tires/retreads on Dec. 1 and on passenger car and light truck tires on Feb. 1.
Prices on Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand truck tires and MRT-brand retreads will rise an average of 8 percent, Michelin said.
Michelin did not specify the size of the increase on Michelin-, BFG-, Uniroyal- and private- and associate-brand passenger and light truck tires, but said they will vary by product line.
Michelin did not comment on its reasons for raising prices or on the pricing situation in Canada.
Michelin last raised truck tire/retread prices in the U.S. on May 1 by 3 to 7 percent, and on passenger/light truck tires it was June 1, by up to 6 percent.
Michelin also raised prices on farm and OTR tires in North America on Aug. 1 by 3 to 3.5 percent.
