NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2010)—Bridgestone Americas has promoted Stephen Brooks, former president, U.S., Canada and Monterrey Manufacturing Group, to the newly created position of chief information officer, and named Barrett “Barry” Owens as his replacement.
Brooks will oversee all information technology functions for the Bridgestone Americas family of companies and will report directly to CEO and President Gary Garfield, the firm said.
Since joining the company—then Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.—in 1989, Brooks has numerous managerial positions, such as team leader, area manager, general manager of manufacturing at the company's Aiken County manufacturing plant in Graniteville, S.C., to vice president of manufacturing.
He was promoted to his most recent position in 2008.
Owens has been named vice president, manufacturing for the U.S., Canada and Monterrey Manufacturing Group, after serving as executive director, process engineering development.
