WASHINGTON (Oct. 4, 2010)—The Alliance for American Manufacturing, a coalition of various U.S. manufacturers and the United Steelworkers union, is sponsoring a “Keep It Made in America” tour this month.
The tour will consist of 12 town hall meetings in 10 states, allowing voters to ask direct questions of candidates and elected officials about how they will redress the U.S. trade deficit with China and promote U.S. manufacturing, the AAM said. The stated topics of the meetings are:
* The need to create good jobs in the 21st century;
* The importance of fighting for manufacturing as the key to economic recovery; and
* Leveling the playing field for American workers and businesses in the global marketplace.
