LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Sept. 28, 2010)—Lanxess A.G. said it will boost prices for its chloroprene rubber starting in the fourth quarter by as much as $700 a metric ton, depending on the region in which it is sold.
The company blamed increased feedstock and energy costs for its decision. Lanxess sells the rubber under the tradename Baypren, and it is used in cable sheathings, hoses, belts and air springs.
