FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 16, 2010)—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. recently marked 1 million man-hours without a lost time injury at its Tupelo, Miss., tire plant.
The Findlay-based tire maker said the “significant accomplishment demonstrates the company's commitment to the highest standards of safety performance and its desire to create a safer working environment.”
“Tupelo has set an unprecedented safety achievement for North America by achieving 1 million man-hours without a lost time injury,” Cooper Tire Chairman, President and CEO Roy Armes said. “This significant milestone exemplifies the respect our employees have for safety—both the safety and well-being of their co-workers as well as the safety and well-being of the customers who buy our products and trust in the quality we deliver to them.”
Pat Jodon, the Tupelo plant's manager, said the safety milestone “represents the dedication and diligence that our employees have toward maintaining a safe work environment. This was truly a group effort and I applaud our team for their continued diligence and commitment toward safety.”
