GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 8, 2010)—Michelin North America Inc.'s Development Upstate program to aid small businesses recently awarded $400,000 in low-interest loans to six additional businesses.
The latest businesses in upstate South Carolina to receive loans are:
— Bridge Your Love, which helps families stay connected to elderly loved one with an interactive, wireless photo frame;
— Boydbikes L.L.C., a bicycle manufacturer that offers bikes and wheels in lightweight carbon fiber;
— CeCe's Mobile Grooming, a mobile pet grooming business;
— First Class Barbers, a hair salon that doubles as a car detailing shop;
— Soluna Salon, a salon and spa for Seneca, S.C.; and
— TJH Designs Group Inc., a manufacturer of unique portable storage cabinets.
In August, Michelin announced it was investing $1 million to Michelin Development, bringing its total loans for economically and socially disadvantaged small businesses to $2 million.
Michelin said it continues to accept applications for additional low-interest loans. Applications can be submitted online at www.michelindevelopment.us/. Once a business owner registers and receives a unique user login, he or she will be asked to outline business plans and strategies.
