AKRON (Aug. 18, 2010)—Goodyear has won a five-year contract to supply tires and tire-related services to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which it previously served from 1985-2006.
The nation's second-largest transit bus fleet operates more than 100 million miles annually, and the authority has a fleet of about 2,550 buses. Combined with Metro Rail and other transportation, it has an annual ridership of over 447 million, and provides service to nearly 16,000 bus stops, Goodyear said.
The value of the contract wasn't disclosed.
