VIENNA, Austria (Aug. 11, 2010)—Semperit A.G. Holding reported a 15.7-percent increase in net profits on an 11.6-percent rise in sales for the first half, despite higher raw material costs.
The rubber products company said net earnings rose to $28.4 million on sales of $425.9 million. Pretax profits climbed 13.6 percent to $51.3 for the six months.
Semperit said its Sempermed glove business, Semperflex hose division and Semperform sponge rubber operations all showed improvement in the period. The Sempertrans conveyor belt business experienced a 3.6-percent falloff in sales from the previous year.
