TIVOLI, Italy (Aug. 11, 2010)—Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. is increasing its capacity to make forestry tires at its factory in Tivoli to meet growing demand for the products.
Trelleborg didn't disclose the size of the expansion nor the investment but said the project is continuing throughout 2010 with the installation of more curing presses. The company said it completed installation of the new lines for forestry tire production during 2009 and began industrialization of the first sizes in January.
A spokesman said the firm expects forestry tire output to increase during 2010 and 2011 in line with rising demand. Trelleborg employs 600 at the 2.4-million-sq.-ft. plant near Rome.
