NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 2, 2010)—Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions is promoting Kurt Danielson, currently vice president, sales and marketing, to president, replacing Saul Solomon, who continues as president, U.S. and Canada commercial tire sales division for Bridgestone Americas.
The change was effective Aug. 1.
As president, Danielson will be responsible for the daily operation, profitability and long-term strategic direction of Bridgestone Bandag, including sales, marketing, finance, human resources, manufacturing, and research and development.
“Kurt played a critical role in the formation of Bridgestone Bandag after the Bandag merger in 2007,” Solomon said, “and his professionalism and sound leadership have been instrumental in helping us meet the challenges of today's dynamic truck and bus tire and retread marketplace,”
Danielson joined then-Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. in 1994 as territory manager in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then as territory consultant in Nashville, Tenn. He moved on to become sales manager of OE and truckstop; director of commercial tire marketing, North America; executive director, truck and bus marketing, North America; and vice president, marketing North America.
In addition, Kevin Berg will be promoted to controller for Bridgestone Bandag, effective Aug. 1. Berg will be responsible for the financial planning and operation of the division. His responsibilities will also include overseeing the key financial functions of accounts payable, fleet credit and manufacturing, which comprises four Bandag tread rubber plants and the Bandag equipment plant.
